Anchorage Coastal Management Plan
 |
Public
Hearing Draft
December, 2005
|
Description
Directed
by changes to the Alaska Coastal Management Program, the Municipality is revising
its Anchorage Coastal Management Plan. This Plan is a collection of
geotechnical, hydrologic, and environmental information and includes management
policies for the Municipality's coastal resources. The original plan was reviewed
by the Planning and Zoning Commission and adopted by the Anchorage Assembly in
1980 and revised in June 1987. Anchorage's
Plan is an element of the Comprehensive Plan. This public
hearing draft
will
be
submitted for state review in March. It will then be sent back to the Municipality
for
final Assembly approval later in the year.
Citizen Participation and Schedule
A public hearing for the draft plan is scheduled before the Planning
and Zoning Commission for its February 13, 2006 Regular Meeting in the Assembly
Chambers at the Loussac Library. The public hearing
draft will then
be forwarded to the State and sent back for final Assembly approval later
in
the year.
Public meetings and hearings will be posted on the website as the project
progresses. If you have any questions about this project, please contact
the Planning Department at 343-7921.
